Neste local milhares de homens e mulheres foram marcados pelo trabalho for\u00e7ado em regime equiparado \u00e0 escravatura. A Ro\u00e7a relembra o poder e dom\u00ednio, injusti\u00e7a e dor. Hoje, a degrada\u00e7\u00e3o alastra pelo espa\u00e7o colocando em risco de extin\u00e7\u00e3o a mem\u00f3ria coletiva santomense.
